Your hosts and the team at Simpson Safaris

Either Jill or Angus (often both) are your hosts and guides. Both have a lifetime of experience in the bush and come from Kenya families born in Kenya. Jill is from a farming family and is a nurse of considerable experience. Angus came from a colonial admin. background, has spent a the first half of his career in large scale farm management up to 1990 when they changed to the safari business and commercial flying.

Prior to going into tourism all holidays and weekends off were spent in the Kenya bush and flying. Now they really enjoy sharing the wild with their clients who soon change from Clients to Friends .

James Mwangi is our driver (he is also a qualified and experienced mechanic). He has been with us since the beginning of our safari operation, is of the Kikuyu tribe, an expert spotter of game and always keeps the old Toyota going.

Steven is our man in the camp who helps with all the camp chores. He comes from the nomadic Pokot tribe from the North and has that natural knowledge of all life in the bush.

We also usually employ a local from the area in which we are camping as a watchman and as a connection with the local people in the area. They are usually in the traditional tribal dress, and they have all the local knowledge as to where the game is and act as your guide to meeting the local people.
